"Stadtwerke Flensburg is one of the largest district heating suppliers in Germany. We generate electricity and heat using environmentally friendly cogeneration in our own cogeneration plant. We not only supply the Flensburg region, but also offer attractive electricity products nationwide to private customers and individual electricity and heat solutions for business customers.

Al an innovative and environmentally aware utility, we have set ourselves ambitious targets. For example, in Flensburg we want to generate heat and electricity CO2 neutrally by 2050 by gradually phasing out coal as a fuel. In order to be able to achieve this over the long-term and economically, we increasingly rely on biomass alongside surrogate fuels.

In order to achieve these goals, we also work with various companies, through our affiliate company, Flensburger Förde Energie, in strategic partnerships. The biomass cogeneration power plant in Brunsbüttel, in which we hold a stake, is another milestone in respect of promising, future energy concepts."
