BEBC operates a 30 MW biomass cogeneration plant in Brunsbüttel and supplies industrial customers with “green” energy in the form of heat (process steam) and power from biomass. 

Our energy is produced CO₂-neutral, in environmentally friendly heat and power cogeneration. We offer industrial companies and municipalities a price-stable energy supply. Our energy generation concepts focus on customer’s demand, and we cover the entire value chain.

Every year, 60 million kilowatt hours are generated here. The process steam is supplied to the neighbouring industry. For combustion we use scrap material from landscaping, solely. Compared to fossil fuels, biomass offers decisive advantages and is sensible both from an ecological and an economic perspective.

The BEBC plant in the ChemCoast Park Brunsbüttel, located adjacent to the TOTAL bitumen plant, was build by NovusEnergy together with their local municipal utility partner, Stadtwerke Flensburg, and started operation in September 2008.
